Accompanied by two tutors, ten students from GMG in Bayreuth, Germany, paid a fruitful and joyful visit to Huamei International School for a nine-day exchange study.
During these days, the main mission for the German exchange students was to join the classes in the German program of our school. At the same time, with an aim to let these little guests from Germany have an unforgettable experience in China, the school also prepared some interesting courses for them, such as calligraphy, cooking, tea art and Kong Fu, which, hopefully, can leave them a bright impression of Chinese culture.
In order to help the students understand China better and know more about Guangzhou, the school organized them to go out together, got on the cruise and enjoyed the night view of the Pearl River. Besides, the students also visited the museum of Guangdong and the South China botanic garden, climbed the Yuexiu Mountain and shopped on Beijing Road. Through all these activities, the students were exposed to the combination of tradition and modernity of Guangzhou and had a better understanding of Southern China.
At weekends, the German exchange students stayed with their host families, tasting the Chinese food, experiencing the Chinese lifestyle and communicating with our Chinese students about their school and daily life. Although there are many differences between Germany and China, the exchange students integrated into their host families quite well with the help of the parents and children.
The nine-day experience was short, but the memory will last forever.
