The 2nd grade of GIA held the annual thanksgiving party on November 22th.It was a very nice day. Each class went together with a couple of parents and teachers in the cafeteria to enjoy the traditional holiday meal. The pattern of the Thanksgiving celebration in GIA has never changed through the years. We had those best parents who prepared various of food for the party. On the table, our kids could find candies, chocolates and cakes. There were also pudding, fruits and other varieties of food. The best and most attractive food among them was the roast turkey. It has been the most traditional and favorite food on Thanksgiving Day throughout the years.
After the meal, the students thought about what they were thankful for and created a “I am Thankful for… top 10 list” to share with parents at our party.
“I’m thankful for my cool dad and beautiful mom”,“I’m thankful for my great teachers”“I’m thankful for the big house to live”,“I’m thankful for the clean water to drink”.....
Every student had different people or things to thank for.
When some of the parents heard what their own kids were thankful, they felt so happy and satisfied. They felt it seemed all the kids grew up and they knew what they should be grateful ....
All the kids learned so much America culture from this party. Before the party, our foreign teacher also introduced the history of the Thanksgiving day in the classroom. It helped the kids a lot to know more about this holiday. And the GIA students will learn more western knowledge and culture as they grow.
I would like to thank all the parents who helped to organize the party!Every one had lots of fun and left the party with full bellies. We are very thankful for such a hardworking group of parents, and without then the party couldn’t have been possible! We are very thankful for all the kids that you always do a very good job and make the teachers happy.I hope we also will have a wonderful Thanksgiving party next year.
