  • Background

  • Griggs International Academy (GIA) provides internationally accepted educational programs for students around the world from preschool through university. The programs provided are adaptable to individual learners’ needs and intercultural curriculum. Griggs’ nurturing faculty and staff are committed to inspiring students to achieve a high standard of academic excellence which will build a foundation that will last a lifetime.  


    GIA and Huamei International School are proud to have cooperated for the past 10 years. By joining the GIA family, Huamei students have become part of a welcoming family of 8,000 schools around the globe. This partnership has enabled our students to receive an accredited dual-immersion program and gain the best of the two educations.


  • Program Aims

    Enable students to experience American education by taking its courses and enable students to be fully bilingual (Chinese and English).


  • Components of the Curriculum

    (1)  Chinese courses

    a. Meet Chinese national & local government educational requirements

    b. Students attend compulsory tests administered by local education government

    (2)  American courses

    a. Follow American curriculum guide

    b. The core courses include but not limited to language arts, social study, science, math, physical education, etc.


  • Teaching and Management

    a. Small class instruction (28 students)

    b. To blend the best of Chinese education and American education, emphasize problem solving, inquiry, cooperation, as well as creative and critical thinking.

    c. To immerse the students in authentic American English environment.

    d. To have ongoing course assessments implemented by the American teachers.

    e. To attend American MAP tests developed by NWEA (Northwest Education Association)

    f. Annual program assessment conducted by the inspector from GIA headquarters in the USA.
